Hunters Hill Public School P&C are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and reliable canteen manager to run our school canteen.
Our small school (approx 280 students) averages 80 orders per day and is currently open 4 days per week. We want the successful applicant to build a canteen business that provides nutritious food at an affordable price for our students and staff.
Salary is in accordance with the Fast Food Industry Award [MA000003] Part Time Level 3 with a minimum of 26 hours per week. An incentive scheme based on key performance measures will also be considered for the right applicant.
Employment commences 29 January 2024.
Essential Criteria
- NSW Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certificate and understanding and ability to implement Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A
- Experience in school canteen management or similar food service industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage and operate a profitable school canteen including daily food safety checks, banking, record keeping, costs and pricing strategies, budgeting, stock management and the development of a healthy schools canteen menu
- Ability to work in a team environment with the capacity to organise and hire and train staff and volunteers
- Time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines.
- Knowledge of basic financial (including cash handling) and business management
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Computer literacy using MS Office applications Excel, Word and Internet
- The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Working with Children check before appointment to the position
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with Flexischools or equivalent (training will be provided)
- Applicants should be able to address the Essential Criteria and provide names and contact details of at least 2 Referees.
