SUMMARY:Robot Song
DESCRIPTION:Riverside Theatres will present the Helpmann Award-winning pe
rformance Robot Song by Arena Theatre Company on 24 and 25 August 20
 21. Full of hope\, cutting edge digital technology\, animatronics and a b
eautiful\, original musical score\, this poignant and compelling productio
n is for any child who has ever felt isolated or pushed to the margins.\n\
nWhen eleven-year-old Juniper May receives a petition signed by her entire
class stating that she is ‘the most hated person in the school’ her l
ife is thrown into a complete meltdown. Finally\, after exhausting all oth
er avenues her parents resort to the only thing they have left\, a giant
singing robot.\n\nBased on a true story\, Robot Song illustrates the pr
ofound\, transformative nature of creativity that when combined with uncon
ditional love\, becomes an unstoppable force. For Juniper\, it opens doors
into places she never knew existed allowing her to be defined on her own
terms for the first time.\n\nThis deeply personal story shares an honest\,
intensely funny and often unconventional window into writer/director Joly
on James’ (Arena Theatre Company’s Trapper and Cautionary Tales fo
r Children) experience parenting a child on the Autism Spectrum. Robot S
ong is suitable for ages 8 – 12 and their families.\n\nRiverside Theat
res is a registered COVID Safe venue\, please check the website for up to
date COVID Safe practices\, ticket information\, and refund policies.
