It is for fun walkers and runners\, not for professionals. We t hank all the \;sponsors\, \;supporters \;and volunteers \; who generously donate time\, money\, merchandise and services to make this event possible.\n\nThe proceeds go to fund research into youth mental hea lth and treatment programs\, and to other worthy Rotary projects.\n\nIt is important to care for the mental health of our young people. \;Betwee n 2-5% of young people will suffer from anxiety. Young children with anxie ty are 3-5 times more likely to develop teenage depression.\n\nIt costs ov er $30\,000 per year for a PhD student to research youth mental health pro blems and develop appropriate solutions. A subsidised place in a Cool Kids treatment program for children costs $500.
