TNC provides support in the form of casework\, counselling\, advice\, referrals\, advocacy and group work.\n\nThe Case Worker will work with the Homeless Early Intervention team to provide services that support people who are at risk of homelessness to remain safely in their existing housing or secure alternative accommodation. The program also supports a small nu mber of people who are homeless and in crisis and through a rapid re-housi ng approach.\n\nSalary will be in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 4 and in accordance with applicant’s skills\, knowledge and experience. There is generous salary packaging as well as 6 weekly external team clinical s upervision\, training budget and EAP provision is available for this role. \n\nEssential Criteria:\n\n Relevant tertiary qualifications\n Previous case management experience\n Demonstrated high levels of motivation and s trong interpersonal skills\n Demonstrated understanding of the issues tha t lead to homelessness and previous experience or ability to navigate and facilitate affordable housing option in Sydney for clients\n Direct exper ience and demonstrated skill in working with clients facing a range of iss ues and significant experience working with at least three of the followin g client groups:\n– People experiencing homelessness\, or at imminent ri sk of homelessness\n– Addictions\, particularly alcohol\, drug and gambl ing addiction or misuse\n– People experiencing chronic and/or acute ment al health\n– At risk and vulnerable young people\n– At risk and vulner able single men and single fathers\n Strong computer literacy skills\, in cluding use of Microsoft Office Business Suite\n Ability to work after ho urs on occasions\n Strong written and oral communication skills\n Unders tand the importance of WHS\n Current driver’s license\n\nDesirable Crit eria:\n\n Experience in delivering high quality support to the following client groups\; single men\, single women\, families\, children\, young pe ople and the vulnerable\n Experience working in a homelessness early inte rvention project and/or experience working with clients in a rapid rehousi ng project\n Previous experience working in private real estate or for a social housing provider\n Bilingual/community language\, preferably Manda rin\n\nFor further information\, please contact:\nKim Cooper on 9334 0111 or connect@thenortherncentre.org.au.\n\nApplications close 9.00am on Monda y 25 June 2018\n\nApplicants should send their resume with a covering lett er addressing the essential and desirable criteria to connect@thenorthernc entre.org.au.\n\nThe successful applicant will be subject to a Criminal Re cord and Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
